Webzen Inc. or Webzen (NASDAQ: WZEN) is a video game publisher and video game developer based in South Korea. The company, together with its subsidiaries, also engages in software licensing and related services in other Asian countries. Their two most popular games are Mu Online and SUN. Their much-anticipated massively multiplayer game Huxley was expected to be released in 2010, however it has been released exclusively in Korea. The EU and USA release dates are still unconfirmed. Due to a dispute between Webzen and Re 5 Studios, both companies have reached an agreement Red 5 Studios to be self-publishing Firefall. [3] The Korean game company is currently developing MU Online's original sequel MU2 and Parfait Station. In April 2010 it was announced that Webzen will merge with NHN Games for the purpose of increasing competitiveness and profit. Webzen survived, while NHN Games dissolved with the merger on July 7, 2010. On November 10th, 2011 Webzen presented a video of MU2 at the G-Star 2011 Expo in Busan. The company's line-up of games include other new titles such as Archlord 2, MU: eX 700 - MU Online's first expansion, Continent of the 9th (C9): PvP Global Championship and the first of a kind MU World Championship 2011. Until the end of 2011, Webzen is planning to launch global service for R2: Reign of Revolution and Archlord X: The Chronicles.
